Fighting Handgun Concepts is an advanced, highly practical defensive handgun course designed for shooters who are ready to move beyond the basics and train for real-world, life-or-death encounters. This is not a static, stand-and-shoot class; it’s a dynamic environment built around movement, decision-making, close-quarters work, unconventional positions, and shooting under physical and mental pressure. After safety and precision work, students quickly move into realistic fight speeds, explosive movement, shooting on the move, one-handed handgun use from simulated injury positions, defending others, barrier and vehicle tactics, close-contact engagements, and decisional shooting scenarios. Everything taught is rooted in real experience from actual deadly-force encounters and is designed to prepare everyday defenders for the chaos of a real fight.

Across Saturday and Sunday, you’ll refine your draw stroke, accuracy, recoil management, and fight-speed performance, then expand into groundwork, unconventional shooting angles, complex-threat responses, and articulating legal and physical justifications for your actions. Students must bring a reliable handgun (preferably two), a quality holster, at least three magazines, 800–1000 rounds, range-appropriate clothing, eye/ear protection, cleaning gear, water, and lunch. Optional comfort items like knee/elbow pads, a ground mat, and a durable chair are encouraged. This is a moderately physical course requiring focus, mental engagement, and a willingness to push your skills to the next level.
